Local Investors Launch eBigDay.com

New Wedding Planning Site Combines Powerful Online Resources With Links to Local Wedding-Related Businesses

STRUTHERS, Ohio (December 29th, 2003) – A group of local investors today announced the launch of eBigDay.com, a new interactive website that enables couples to plan their weddings online with the help of local businesses.

Located at www.eBigDay.com, the site combines powerful online software with easy access to Mahoning Valley florists, caterers, photographers and others in the wedding business.

“Our niche is our local focus,” said Ralph Blanco, Chief Executive Officer of eBigDay.com. “We hope to become the Mahoning Valley ’s premier online destination for planning the perfect wedding.”

Blanco is one of fourteen local investors who put up capital to establish and market the new site. He is president of Executive Computer Management Solutions, Inc., a computer consulting company that installs, manages and maintains computer networks for small to medium size companies throughout Mahoning, Trumbull , Columbiana and  Mercer c ount ies .

“eBigDay.com is a portal that is designed to benefit local brides and grooms, as well as local companies in the wedding business,” Blanco said. “For the couple, we will provide easy access to websites of local wedding-related businesses, along with coupons, driving directions and email links. Our online tools enable a bride to organize every aspect of her ‘big day,’ from the budget to the guest list. All of this is available at no charge.

“For local wedding-related businesses, we will provide a pipeline to brides and grooms that are very much in the market for flowers, photography, catering service and other services required for weddings.”

All local businesses will be listed in the appropriate categories, at no charge. Premium listings and banner advertising are available for a small fee.

eBigDay.com will introduce the site through live demonstrations during three upcoming bridal shows:

  • The Essence of Elegance at the Holiday Inn Metroplex on January 11th.
  • eBigDay.com’s Bridal Spectacular 2004 at Mr. Anthony’s on January 25th.
  • Party Ultimate 2004 at the Southern Park Mall on Saturday 31st.
  • Bridal Extravaganza 2004 at the Eastwood Mall on February 7th & 8th.

eBigDay.com has been under development for four years, Blanco said. 

“The timing is good now because a large share of our market has access to high-speed internet connections that can convey the rich content we’re providing,” Blanco said. “In the past, the lack of high-speed connections made offerings like this impractical.”

The Mahoning Valley is the first market for eBigDay.com, but the company plans to expand into other markets in the near future, Blanco said.

“We believe there is a strong need for a robust online resource that offers a local focus that benefits couples and businesses,” he said. “The Mahoning Valley will be an excellent place to launch.”
